One of the key flavors in craft beers, hops, are being grown on the Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas, and craft brewers are multiplying across the Traverse City area. Currently, there are over a dozen microbreweries, brewpubs and craft brew taprooms.
This increased popularity of fine craft beers and microbreweries has led to the development of the TC Ale Trail.
The trail offers an opportunity for visitors and locals alike to experience the growing craft beer scene in the Traverse City area. Participants pick up a passport and get it stamped at each of the nine participating breweries, then turn the completed passport in at The Filling Station to receive a free pint glass. Stop at Big Toe Brewery for an extra credit prize. The program is free and there is no time limit for completion.
Currently participating breweries include: North Peak Brewing Company, Brewery Ferment, Brewery Terra Firma, Right Brain, Jolly Pumpkin, Rare Bird, Bravo Zulu, The Workshop Brewing Company and The Filling Station.
It's a fun and unique way to experience the growing craft brew scene in the Traverse City area.
